San José Police Arrest Two in Gang-Related Firearm Incident on Poco Way

On April 28, 2025, San José Police Department officers responded to a report of a firearm brandishing on the 1900 block of Poco Way. An adult female reported being confronted by two suspects in a vehicle. The male suspect exited the car, made gang-related gestures, and pointed a firearm at the victim. Both suspects left the area before police arrived.

After an investigation, the SJPD Gang Investigations Unit identified the suspects as Christopher Murillo, 22, of Gilroy, and Jezarae Chavez, 22, of Morgan Hill. Detectives obtained arrest and search warrants for both individuals and their homes.

On October 28, 2025, officers arrested Murillo in San José and Chavez in Morgan Hill. During a search of Murillo’s residence in Gilroy, detectives found an unregistered, loaded firearm and items linked to gang activity. Police say Murillo is prohibited from possessing firearms.
