Milpitas Residents Encouraged to Switch to Electric Appliances and Vehicles with New Incentives

Milpitas is encouraging residents to use electric appliances and vehicles to reduce the city’s carbon emissions. The city aims to decrease reliance on natural gas and gasoline. This effort is intended to support environmental goals and address air quality concerns.

Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE), the city’s energy provider, supplies carbon-free electricity to most homes and businesses. SVCE rates are lower than those of PG&E.

New funding from the U.S. Department of Energy and support from Congressman Ro Khanna have increased available rebates. Residents can now receive up to $3,600 in additional incentives for electrification projects, in addition to existing SVCE programs…
