‘I knew he was going to die’: New details emerge in Calif. tech CEO murder case

In October 2019, the body of cannabis entrepreneur and multimillionaire CEO Tushar Atre was discovered in one of his rural properties in the Santa Cruz Mountains, leading to the arrest of several suspects, who have been accused of kidnapping him from his oceanfront property and killing him.

One the suspects, 25-year-old Kaleb Charters, took the stand on Wednesday, KRON-TV reported on Thursday. According to the outlet, Charters said he and his brother-in-law, Stephen Lindsay, worked on Atre’s cannabis operation from dawn until dusk for 10 days during the summer of 2019, earning a mere $200 a day.

After finally receiving their paychecks, Atre allegedly became furious when Charters and Linsday lost the keys to one of the farm vehicles, nicknamed the “Monster Truck.” According to the outlet, Charters said, “Tushar was flipping out. He was going to cancel the checks.” Subsequently, Atre allegedly withheld their pay and promised to give them their $1,400 if they performed 500 pushups…
