Jason Elola, a father of nine and grandfather of four from Tracy, was killed after a road rage incident near the Castro Valley BART station last Saturday night. The incident began with a minor car accident and escalated when Elola confronted the other driver, 37-year-old Martin Davis Jr., resulting in Elola’s death. About 200 people attended a vigil at Elola’s food truck, Street Eats 209. His wife, Gabrielle, said, “The only thing that is clear is that my husband was protecting us, and that we were scared, and that this person, he didn’t have to take my husband.” Davis later returned to the scene and was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to KCRA.
