Fremont homeowner catches jewelry thieves fleeing from backyard

(KRON) — The Fremont Police Department said a homeowner returned to their residence to catch burglars making their getaway.

FPD said its officers responded to the incident on Nov. 8 at a home on Ariel Avenue.

“The victim returned home to find two subjects who ran out of his backyard and fled in a vehicle,” said Fremont police.

Police said a search of the home revealed the suspects entered through the windows. They made off with approximately $24,000 worth of jewelry and other belongings, according to FPD.
