Tech companies trim just over 100 South Bay jobs in latest staff cuts

SAN JOSE — Two tech companies have each decided to chop dozens of jobs in the South Bay in the latest sign that the key industry sector continues to seek ways to operate more efficiently.

Lumileds and Couchbase have revealed plans to eliminate a combined total of 108 jobs, all in San Jose, according to official WARN notices the tech companies have sent to the state Employment Development Department.
