Forty-Year-Old Woman Shoots, Seriously Wounds Teen in San Ramon

SAN RAMON, CALIFORNIA – A 17-year-old boy was shot and injured in a San Ramon neighborhood Sunday evening, and police say they have now arrested a 40-year-old Union City woman on suspicion of attempted homicide.

Shooting On Talavera Drive

According to a news release from the San Ramon Police Department, officers responded to Talavera Drive at about 6:18 p.m. on November 23, 2025, after getting a report of an injured teen.

San Ramon Valley Fire personnel and officers found a 17-year-old with a single gunshot wound to the upper shoulder. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, received medical treatment, and was later released. Police did not release his name.

Union City Woman Arrested On $1 Million Warrant

During their investigation, patrol officers and detectives identified the suspect as Xiaojie Zhang, a 40-year-old woman who lives in Union City, police said.
