JCPenney to close another Bay Area store

(KRON) — The San Francisco Bay Area will soon lose another JCPenney store. The company confirmed to KRON4 that its retail location at the Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton will close its doors in February 2026.

The Pleasanton department store’s final day of business will be on February 22, 2026. In a statement, the company said it was “unable to continue our current lease terms for this store location and have been unable to find another suitable location in the market.”

It is unclear if employees were offered transfers to other Bay Area JCPenney locations…
