Man arrested for lighting San Jose restaurant on fire: PD

(KRON) — A man was arrested by the California Highway Patrol Wednesday after setting a popular downtown San Jose restaurant on fire earlier in the week, the San Jose Police Department said.

Police: Hayward boyfriend attempted to cover up homicide

SJPD did not name the restaurant targeted in the arson incident on the 300 block of West Saint John Street.

Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames before they spread or injured anyone, San Jose police said in a social media post Friday. The total estimated value of damage was not disclosed.

Arson investigators with the San Jose Fire Department worked alongside SJPD’s Real Time Intelligence Center to identify and located the person allegedly responsible.

The suspect has not yet been identified by authorities. It is not clear what led to the incident…
