(KRON) – The San Jose Police Department held a gun buyback event on Saturday and reported collecting 350 firearms and 21 assault weapons.
The initiative was held at the San Jose Police Department substation and was open to all residents of Santa Clara County.

Handguns, rifles and shotguns were exchanged for $100 and assault weapons were exchanged for $200. Non-functional firearms and ammunition were also turned in for proper disposal.
