Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) in Santa Clara County, California, has been named a High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report (USNWR) for the fifth consecutive year. This recognition is part of the 2026 Best Hospitals rankings and is the highest rating given by USNWR in the maternity care category.
SCVMC is part of Santa Clara Valley Healthcare, the second-largest public health system in California. The hospital was evaluated alongside about 900 hospitals nationwide. USNWR based its ratings on factors such as C-section rates in lower-risk pregnancies, rates of severe newborn complications, exclusive breast milk feeding rates, and birthing-friendly practices.
