East Bay market responds to questionable video of workers unloading meat truck

(KRON) — An East Bay Middle Eastern market is disputing claims that it violated California health and safety code when workers were seen offloading meat carcasses from a truck outside the store at 37235 Fremont Blvd. in Fremont Tuesday morning.

“Horrible handling of meat,” a video posted to Reddit reads.

The manager of Maiwand Market told KRON 4 News that, despite online speculation, the truck was refrigerated and the meat was resting on butcher paper.

The Alameda County Public Health Department inspected the market Friday in response to the video, and did not fine the market for any health code violations related to the incident, the manager said…
