A tornado warning was issued for southern San Mateo County and western Santa Cruz County on Monday afternoon and people were advised to shelter in place and expect roof and other damage.
The warning, issued around 4 p.m., expired at 4:12 p.m.
Radar detected rotation in a storm cell that came ashore about 17 miles west of Boulder Creek just before 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
