Popular discount retailer to close 2 major locations in the new year

Fans of the popular discount retailer Marshall’s will have to bid farewell to two major stores.

The department store chain is known for its off-price items, selling higher brands at lower costs than you’d find in the original stores. It’s owned by TJX Companies, which also operates TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Sierra, and HomeSense.

This comes after customers discovered two TJ Maxx locations are on the chopping block: in Maryland and Massachusetts. The Boston location was staffed with 117 workers who will be affected by the closure.

The Marshalls locations both closed on Jan. 5 in areas of California, so shoppers will want to be aware so they can find a new store.

Which Marshalls stores are closing?

The shuttered Marshalls stores are located at:

  • 7013 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles
  • 5160 Stevens Creek Blvd., San Jose
