Massive SF-based Asian restaurant opening at Westfield Valley Fair

(KRON) — Since opening in 2017, China Live on San Francisco’s Broadway Street has been a massive success — seemingly packed with guests on Friday and Saturday nights. Nine years later, the owners, husband-and-wife duo George Chen and Cindy Wong-Chen, will launch their newest concept at Westfield Valley Fair.

Asia Live is opening this spring at the popular Santa Clara mall, a restaurant spokesperson tells KRON4. The two-story establishment will take over the former space of iChina, which closed in 2025 after a five-year run. It will be located next to the Shake Shack and across from Eataly.

The restaurant is a “culinary destination” that will feature a marketplace restaurant and bar, a press release states. The bar will be similar to China Live’s “Cold Drinks,” which serves upscale cocktails.

Asia Live, in contrast to its San Francisco counterpart, will serve more than just Chinese cuisine. The restaurant will serve dishes from Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea and India, the release states. It spans approximately 13,000 square feet and has 350 seats…
