H Mart to Open Largest U.S. Store in Fremont

H Mart, a Korean grocery chain, is preparing to open its largest U.S. store in Fremont at the Pacific Commons shopping center, located at 43440 Boscell Rd.

The new location will occupy approximately 100,000 square feet across two levels, according to the San Francisco Business Times. The ground floor will feature a full grocery store, while the second floor will include a food hall, bar, several restaurants, communal spaces, and possibly an indoor play area. H Mart’s retail partners will operate some tenant spaces, and at least one restaurant will offer a fine-dining concept. Construction is expected to begin later in 2026, with a projected opening in late 2027.

Founded in 1982 in Woodside, Queens, H Mart has grown to more than 97 locations across the United States. The chain is known for offering a full line of Asian foods alongside Western groceries, and its stores often include eateries and food courts.
