A 31-year-old San Jose man was killed yesterday when his motorcycle went off a steep embankment along a notoriously tricky stretch of State Highway 9 in Santa Cruz County, authorities said.
The solo crash was reported at about 5:54 PM Emergency crews responded but pronounced the rider dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released his name, saying they are still working to notify his family.
According to the SFGATE, the man was heading south on a Suzuki when he lost control, crashed and went down an embankment. The California Highway Patrol said the cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
