San Jose police arrest 2 suspects in teen boy’s homicide

(KRON) — Two men were arrested this week in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy in San Jose, just north of downtown Campbell, the San Jose Police Department announced Friday. The teen’s death on Sunday marked the city’s first homicide of 2026.

Jose Flores, 47, and John Flores, 43, both of San Jose, were taken into custody on Tuesday after the murder investigation was able to identify a suspect vehicle connected to the incident, according to authorities.

The fatal shooting happened around 4:48 p.m. in a business parking lot in the 1500 block of Winchester Boulevard. Police believe that the shooting occurred following an altercation between the boy, whose identity is being withheld, and the two suspects. The teen succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital.

“Detectives utilized a combination of investigative methods, including automated license plate reader (ALPR) technology and public safety cameras, which helped rapidly advance the investigation,” SJPD said…
