Ellsworth B-1 Lancers to Flyover Super Bowl

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Two B-1B Lancer bombers from Ellsworth Air Force Base will take center stage Sunday as part of a historic joint-service flyover for Super Bowl LX.

The appearance of the Rapid City-based aircraft is part of a coordinated display by the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States. The flyover will occur during the national anthem at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are set to face off.

The formation will feature a unique blend of airpower. Joining the two B-1 Lancers from Ellsworth are two F-15C Eagles from the Fresno Air National Guard Base in California. The Navy will contribute two F/A-18E Super Hornets and two F-35C Lightning IIs from Naval Air Station Lemoore, California…
