A 70-year-old man who refused to leave a casino Saturday night died in police custody, the San Pablo Police Department said.
Officers responded at 10:44 p.m. to a report of a banned guest refusing to leave the San Pablo Lytton Casino, police said. When they arrived they learned that casino security staff had already detained the man in handcuffs. Police said there was no use of force on the part of their officers.
The man was taken into police custody on suspicion of trespassing and taken to county jail, police said. While at the jail, he suffered an unknown medical emergency, and staff with the jail and Contra Costa Fire Protection District rendered aid and took him to a local hospital, police said…
