A luxury jet ‘exodus’ followed Super Bowl night in the Bay Area

More than a hundred private jets flew out of the Bay Area’s major airports after the Super Bowl on Sunday night, while dozens took off from smaller  airports, according to data provided by the facilities and  the live air traffic site Flight Radar.

Analysts at the site counted 136 departures from five airports between 7 p.m. Sunday evening and 2 a.m. Monday. Of these, 19 flew out of San Francisco International Airport, 43 left San Jose Mineta International Airport, 52 took off from Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport, 14 departed from Livermore Municipal Airport and eight launched from Hayward Executive Airport. Benny Stuth, the manager of Livermore’s hub, said 53 planes swooped in for the Super Bowl, with 28 arriving on Sunday before kickoff.
