K9 bites Fremont police sergeant, suspect accidentally shot

(KRON) — A Fremont police sergeant accidentally shot a burglary suspect after the sergeant was bitten by a police K9, authorities said.

The incident began on Valentine’s Day when detectives attempted to arrest four suspects in Fremont who were wanted for multiple prior residential burglaries across the Bay Area. The group committed more burglaries on February 14 before they returned to Fremont, police said.

“A vehicle pursuit was initiated. The suspect vehicle was ultimately disabled, and all four suspects fled on foot,” the Fremont Police Department wrote…
