Firefighters contain San Jose apartment blaze Wednesday morning

(KRON) — Five people were displaced from a San Jose apartment building Wednesday morning after heavy fire moved through two floors, according to fire officials.

The San Jose Fire Department responded at 9:29 a.m. to the 3200 block of Loma Verde Drive on the report of a two-story apartment building fire. Arriving firefighters saw flames coming from the first-floor unit.

Crews were able to isolate the blaze to the primary unit on the first floor and the second-floor unit directly above, SJFD said. The fire was knocked down by 10:09 a.m.
