Body camera videos released of downtown San Jose police shooting

(KRON) — Police released body-worn camera videos from a chaotic shootout in downtown San Jose that left a carjacking suspect dead on January 21. A sergeant was shot in the head and the suspect, 30-year-old Mohamed Husien, attempted to carjack the sergeant’s patrol car, authorities said.

Bystanders who were caught in crossfire described the melee as like a warzone. Law enforcement officers opened fire against the suspect four separate times before he was plowed over by a police SUV in downtown San Jose and died. The wounded sergeant survived.

On Sunday, San Jose Police Department Chief Paul Joseph released the body camera videos publicly, as well as videos recorded by a police helicopter. (Warning: Video may be disturbing for some viewers.)…
