Advanced manufacturing firm shuts doors at San Jose tech project site

SAN JOSE — An advanced manufacturing company has decided to shut its doors at a San Jose site where a tech and data hub is being planned by a real estate firm with a global reach.

Lumileds is closing its production and office center on a north San Jose property that is part of a 45.8-acre north San Jose property and future development site at 350 and 370 West Trimble Road.

Australia-based Goodman Group is planning an innovation center and campus that will contain data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, and warehouse space, according to the big real estate company.

The shutdown of the Lumileds site will erase 24 jobs, according to a WARN notice the company filed with the state Employment Development Department…
