A 10-year-old boy stabbed a 7-year-old girl three times in the shoulder on the playground of an elementary school in an extremely wealthy Mountain View, California, neighborhood, the California Post reports.
Investigators said it’s unclear whether the two children knew each other prior to the incident taking place on the Bubb Elementary School playground on March 11. The boy led the police on a hot pursuit before authorities caught him with the assistance of home surveillance footage and a K-9 unit at his house without incident.
The boy allegedly used a kitchen knife during the stabbing, which resulted in the school immediately being placed on lockdown.
