San Mateo, California – Late Friday night, what began as a routine patrol along U.S. Highway 101 quickly escalated into a serious arrest involving drugs, an illegal firearm, and two small children inside a vehicle.
According to the San Mateo PD, at around 11 p.m. on March 13, 2026, members of the Crime Reduction Unit were traveling southbound near the Hillsdale Boulevard exit when their attention was drawn to an SUV drifting repeatedly across lane lines.
