A 7-year-old girl survived a brazen knife attack while at an after-school program in California. The stabbing occurred around 3:30 p.m. March 11, 2026, at Bubb Elementary School in Mountainview. A 10-year-old boy who reportedly does not attend the school or its after-school program allegedly stabbed the girl three times with a kitchen knife. He then ran away but not before dropping his weapon near the playground. Police put the school on lockdown while searching for their suspect. Thankfully, officers apprehended him a short time later. When they found him, they realized he wasn’t a stranger to law enforcement.
EMS rushed to the scene.
The Mountain View Emergency Communications Center received the call in the early afternoon and sent crews to the scene in the 500 block of Hans Avenue, according to a news release from the city of Mountain View. EMS immediately rendered aid to the injured child and released her to a parent. Her current condition is unknown.
Police knew the suspect from past encounters.
When officers began searching the 10-year-old suspect, they quickly recognized him.
“During the neighborhood search, officers located residential video. A patrol officer later identified the suspect through the residential video after recognizing him from prior contacts,” police noted in the city’s news release. “A Los Altos Police Department K-9 unit assisted in tracking the suspect from the school to the suspect’s residence.”…
