The City of Santa Clara will hold a free Household Hazardous Waste drop-off event on Saturday, April 25. Residents can safely dispose of items that cannot go in weekly trash or recycling carts. Accepted materials include old paint, chemical cleaners, pesticides, fluorescent lamps, batteries, medications, sharps, and other hazardous waste.
For medication disposal, remove personal information from packaging and place the drugs in a separate container before arriving. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 408-299-7300 or visiting hhw.org. The Santa Clara Police Department also provides medication drop-off bins in their lobby year-round, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.…
