(KRON) — A vegetation blaze on Wednesday, dubbed the Curry Fire by authorities, ripped through approximately 25 to 30 acres in Santa Clara County before forward progress was stopped, according to Cal Fire Santa Clara Unit. No evacuations and injuries were reported, and there was no structural damage.
The incident started around 5:48 p.m. near Bernal Road and Heaton Moor Drive in South San Jose.
“Fire crews acted fast to keep the fire contained and the community safe,” Cal Fire SCU said in a social media post.
Fire officials said aggressive response tactics from ground and air resources helped stop the fire’s progress around 6:30 p.m.
During the incident, PG&E confirmed over 2,000 customers were reportedly without power in San Jose. Full-service restoration was expected by 10:15 p.m. Wednesday…
