Yesterday’s street fight in East San Jose ended with multiple guns off the street and three people in custody, after officers say they found hidden firearms during two separate enforcement stops.
San Jose police said two adult men were booked into jail and a juvenile was taken to juvenile hall following the stops. According to the department, one person tried to bolt from officers, only to be caught with what police described as a stolen rifle tucked into his waistband. The department later posted photos of the seized weapons to its social channels.
Police say stops followed a street fight
According to the San José Police Department, members of the department’s Violent Crimes Enforcement Team made a pedestrian stop tied to a reported fight in the 1100 block of Story Road. During that encounter, officers said a male suspect tried to run away on foot but was quickly apprehended. Police reported finding a concealed, stolen rifle in his waistband.
