Bakersfield man struck and killed by vehicle in Santa Ana

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 35-year-old Bakersfield man died in Santa Ana after being struck by a vehicle while, police say, he was crossing outside a marked crosswalk early Sunday morning.

The Santa Ana Police Department said on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at around 4:53 a.m., the department received multiple calls regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Yale Street.

Officers, along with Orange County Fire Authority, responded to the scene and found the pedestrian, later identified as 35-year-old Esteban Ramon Renterian of Bakersfield, lying in the roadway with injuries…
