3 Hacienda Heights homes evacuated after back-to-back mudslides

Three homes were evacuated in Hacienda Heights Tuesday morning after two mudslides made their way down a saturated hillside.

As KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian reports, Firefighters were at the scene on Gotera Drive responding to an earlier mudslide that came down to a home that didn’t cause any structural damage when a second tore a hole into the primary bedroom of Jesus Baron’s home.

Baron told Tavidian the damage was severe but localized to the one bedroom, saying the whole wall came down when the mud came in.

Firefighters worked for approximately three or four hours, posting plywood and laying sandbags to keep mud from entering any other homes.

Luckily, no one was injured.
