Police bust Target shoplifters in Riverside County, find meth and pipes

Two people were arrested after a shoplifting spree was captured on surveillance video at a Target store in Riverside County.

The incident occurred last Tuesday and was captured on video shared Monday on Instagram by the Murrieta Police Department which showed a shopper filling a cart with merchandise, including clothes and a flashlight.

A Loss Prevention worker saw the whole thing live and called police around the time the suspect fled the store through a fire exit, where a friend was waiting in the parking lot.

“What Dumb & Dumber didn’t know, was that officers from MPD were already on their way to Target to greet them,” police said in the post while providing its own nicknames for the suspects.

The two were spotted a short time later sitting in their car just a few blocks from the Target store and were contacted by an officer.

Police said they found the stolen merchandise, methamphetamine and meth pipes inside the vehicle.
