Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler was reportedly robbed at the Santa Anita Park racecourse in Arcadia, California, at some point prior to his scheduled start in Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres , according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News in Los Angeles.
Buehler, 30, and his wife, McKenzie Marcinek , were reportedly surrounded by a mob when someone allegedly unbottoned the pitcher’s shirt sleeve and stole his watch reported to be valued at around $100,000, according to TMZ Sports . The Lexington, Kentucky, native is a lifelong fan of horse racing and has an investment stake in the American Thoroughbred racehorse Authentic, the 2020 Kentucky Derby winner trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert .
ABC 7 said it contacted the Arcadia Police Department for more information and was referred to a detective that didn’t return its call, while a spokesperson for the Dodgers had no comment on the alleged incident. Additionally, the station previously reported that the incident occurred over the weekend, however, couldn’t confirm when it took place.
