A 72-year-old Orange County Jail inmate, who was in custody since 2019, appears to have died of natural causes while behind bars, authorities said Monday.

The inmate, whose name was not immediately released as authorities work to notify all of his relatives, died in a jail wing of a local hospital Sunday night, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The man was booked into the jail by Westminster police on suspicion of attempted murder and arson on March 9, 2019, according to deputies.
The inmate was taken to the hospital on Sunday, where he was pronounced dead about 9:17 a.m., deputies said. His cause of death will be determined by an independent pathologist, but it doesn’t appear to be suspicious, deputies said…
