The man who died after being struck by a semi truck in a fatal 5 Freeway crash Wednesday afternoon has been identified.
Julio Cesar Silva, 55, from Hacienda Heights, was identified as the man who died in the crash, said Kelly Vail, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Just before 3 p.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of a crash involving a pedestrian on the southbound 5 Freeway near the 14 Freeway, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office .
