Over Half of California’s Coastline Warned of Dangerous Ocean Conditions

National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists have issued weather alerts warning Californians about dangerous ocean conditions for more than half of the state’s coastline on Wednesday.

Why It Matters

On Wednesday morning, beach-related weather alerts warning people to stay out of the water or be alert for dangerous ocean conditions stretched from Big Sur, Central California, to north of Crescent City, on the border with Oregon.

The alerts were in place for nearly 500 miles of California’s coastline. The entire coastline stretches 840 miles.
