The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation, and Marine (PRM) is gearing up to celebrate the sunny days ahead with a free concert for public enjoyment. On May 23, get ready to bust a move with the Pop Vinyl Band at El Dorado Park West as part of the Summer Kickoff Concert festivities. The event promises a mix of pop, funk, soul, rock, Top 40, and Latin tunes sure to get everyone’s toes tapping.
The concert is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. and will continue grooving until 8:00 p.m. Those who plan to attend can truly make the evening comfortable by bringing blankets, chairs, and picnic dinners to enjoy on the lawn. Mayor Rex Richardson is fully on board with the sentiment. “With summer right around the corner, we are thrilled to invite the community to join us in welcoming the warm summer months with this free, family-friendly evening of great music,” Richardson told the City of Long Beach.
In addition to the music, the PRM is also slated to host a variety of other summer events that cater to families and fun-seekers. Movies in the Park and the Long Beach Municipal Band Concert Series are a few programs to look forward to, with more details forthcoming. Brent Dennis, PRM Director, is particularly excited about this season-opener, saying, “You won’t want to miss the free Summer Kickoff concert at El Dorado Park West on Friday, May 23,” as obtained by the City of Long Beach’s press release…
