Anaheim OCVIBE To Add 5,000-Seat Concert Hall

Anaheim is turning up the volume. OCVIBE is adding a 5,000-person concert hall to its 100-acre entertainment district next to the Honda Center, creating a mid-size music venue aimed at year-round touring acts and special events. Construction is already underway, and the hall is slated to open in early 2027 as part of OCVIBE’s first-phase rollout that also includes a market hall and public plaza.

The addition was reported on March 12 by L.A. Business First, which said the new venue will sit within the OCVIBE campus next to Honda Center and seat about 5,000 people. Reporter Isabel Sami framed the announcement as the latest step in the Samueli family’s plan to reshape the area around the arena.

On its own site, OCVIBE describes the project as “The 5,000 person capacity concert hall anchors OCVIBE” and highlights world-class acoustics and close stage views for fans. The page also notes that the venue will include premium club spaces and integrated bars, and it lists an early-2027 opening for the concert hall.

Venue Design And Neighborhood Ties

The hall will be embedded in OCVIBE’s Urban Park and connect directly to Katella Commons, the district’s newly named 50,000-square-foot market hall that will feature multiple kitchens and bar concepts. A release on PR Newswire frames Katella Commons and the concert hall as part of the same first phase of programming that will bring dining and nightlife to the immediate area.

Scale And Timeline

OCVIBE’s press materials tout big numbers, and PR Newswire notes the project is “Privately funded with a $5 billion commitment by the Samueli Family.” An April 2024 fact sheet shows earlier planning estimates that listed the overall project at around $4 billion and referenced a larger 5,700-seat performance venue in some materials, underscoring that capacities and cost figures have shifted as the master plan has evolved.

Transit And Local Impact

City planning and environmental documents indicate the OCVIBE master plan already includes Honda Center and the ARTIC transit hub within its footprint in the Platinum Triangle, according to the draft CEQA report. Earlier coverage of approvals and revisions provides local context on council votes and schedule adjustments as the district moves from plan to construction…
