The City of Santa Ana uses funds from the Measure X local sales tax to host large community and cultural events each year. These include the Chicano Heritage Festival, the Tết Lunar New Year Festival, and the two-day Fiestas Patrias celebration. Together, these events attract nearly 100,000 people annually.
Approved by voters in November 2018, Measure X created a 1.5% local sales tax that has generated more than $500 million since April 1, 2019. The city uses this revenue to fix streets, maintain parks, support firefighters, improve 911 response, provide youth programs, and address homelessness.
