Laguna students present TEDx Conference in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – If you’ve ever wanted to attend a TED Conference, Laguna Blanca High School is giving the community a chance to experience its sixth annual TEDx event on Wednesday.

The event is produced and run entirely by Laguna Blanca high school students.

As part of Laguna’s TEDx elective course, students work together to handle everything from choosing a theme to selecting speakers, managing the budget, building sets, marketing the event, and overseeing the actual production.

The conference features 14 speakers and performers, each presenting 10-minute talks that embrace this year’s theme of Spark .

According to the school, this theme draws inspiration from the concept that when we share a single thought, it can set off a series of events, reflecting our passion for exploring unexpressed ideas and thoughts.

By embracing this imaginative notion, the program said we are driven to envision a future where we can create new opportunities, enabling us to have a positive impact on our community’s lives.
