On Friday night (November 15) I watched the full moon rise to the left of Montecito Peak with its light reflected on the waters of Laguna Blanca. As a “supermoon” it appeared slightly bigger and brighter than the usual full moon. It is named the Beaver Moon because in colonial America it was the time when beavers were preparing their homes for winter and also the best time to set beaver traps before water began freezing.
