PizzaMan Dan is the entrepreneur behind a chain of nine eponymous restaurants across Ventura County and one in Carpinteria, and now he’s entered the tiki bar business as well.
Dan Collier is hard to miss as he’s driving between his establishments in one of his outrageous cars, including a 1972 Corvette painted to look like a giant pepperoni pizza, a 1963 Baja Bug with a surfboard on top and several monster trucks advertising his restaurants. His latest vehicle has a somewhat more exotic air to it, a 2014 convertible Jaguar with a pepperoni racing stripe advertising a spin-off venture with a lower price point and a tropical vibe, 999 Pizza in Old Town Camarillo.
An elaborate tiki bar was created inside the sprawling space that formerly housed Bandits’ Grill & Bar at 1980 Ventura Boulevard. The establishment has a different ambience in each of its three rooms.
