I already mentioned how good it looks from the outside (especially compared to days of yore), and the rooms are sharp, too. (The second-floor ones are preferable, of course.) Mid-week in August, a double room starts at $414 for a 246-square-foot room on the ground floor, plus $65-per-stay cleaning fee and $50 per night in local taxes, for a total of $529.
••• The recent announcement about the upcoming nine-month closure of the southbound on-ramp at Olive Mill Road got some people concerned that it overlaps with the closure of the Posilipo Lane (San Ysidro) onramp, and indeed it does. From mid-July through next spring, if you want to head south on Highway 101, you’ll have to to get on the freeway at Milpas or Sheffield.
