Grand Jury reports say sheriff’s office could have avoided jail deaths

The Santa Barbara County Grand Jury released three reports on Tuesday detailing investigations into inmate deaths at the Northern Branch and Main jail facilities over the past year, finding that policies were violated.

The Jury recommended changes in what were described as treatment deficiencies that could aid staff in saving lives.
