Santa Maria Man Sentenced to 26 Years in State Prison for Thanksgiving Day Robbery and Shooting

Santa Barbara County District Attorney John T. Savrnoch announced that following a jury trial, Edgar Bribiescapuga, a 32-year-old resident of Santa Maria, California, was sentenced to 26 years in State Prison.

Judge Dandona handed down the sentence following jury verdicts related to personally discharging a firearm during the commission of a robbery, assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited vehicle, as well as, various gun possession, drug possession, and theft related offenses.

The charges stemmed from an incident on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023, where Mr. Bribiescapuga and his co-defendant, Alejandro Maldonado, were burglarizing a ranch property located off of Catherdral Oaks Road in Goleta at 8:30am.
