A small brush fire broke out near the railroad tracks and salt marsh behind Aliso School on the evening of July 5, prompting a swift response from multiple fire agencies.
The fire was reported around 8:30 p.m., and the first arriving unit found a 10×10 foot blaze. Crews quickly deployed resources, knocking down the fire by 8:50 p.m. Responding agencies included Carpinteria-Summerland Fire, Montecito Fire, Ventura County Fire, and the U.S. Forest Service.
