On Aug. 1, police responded to the 4800 block of Carpinteria Avenue for a report of a driver who had driven through a fire hydrant, damaged a tree, and ran into a lamp post just before 9 p.m.
The fire hydrant sent water spewing into the air, and local fire personnel responded to the scene to fix it.
