Next month’s California Avocado Festival — known colloquially as Avofest — now has its special event permit and funding for law enforcement, cleaning services and extra staff time, following a Carpinteria City Council vote on Monday.
The annual festival benefits local groups and organizations, including Future Farmers of America.
This year’s festival will run from Friday, Oct. 3, 1–11 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 5, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. These hours are slightly different from previous years, running one hour longer on Friday and Sunday…
